Match Recap: Late Winner Lifts Coywolves to 3-2 Victory over Toronto FC II

New Haven, Conn. (July 12, 2026) — CT United FC continued its push up the MLS NEXT Pro standings on Sunday evening, defeating Toronto FC II, 3-2, in an entertaining back-and-forth contest at Reese Stadium.

Alex Monis gave CT United a deserved first-half lead in the 41st minute, finishing off a well-worked move from Daniel D'Ippolito to send the home side into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

Toronto FC II responded after the break when substitute Dékwon Barrow found the equalizer in the 60th minute. CT United answered just six minutes later as Warren Agostoni delivered a ball into the area that Barnabás Tanyi finished to restore the lead at 2-1.

The visitors refused to go away, drawing level once again in the 71st minute through Jahmarie Nolan to set up a tense final stretch. CT United found the decisive moment in the 83rd minute when substitute Lukas Kamrath set up fellow substitute Cauã Paixão, who calmly finished the game-winning goal to send the Reese Stadium crowd into celebration.

Toronto pushed for another equalizer late, but goalkeeper Gunther Rankenburg made three saves, while the CT United back line stood firm through stoppage time to preserve the 3-2 victory and secure all three points.

The win continues CT United's strong run of form as the club remains firmly in the hunt for an MLS NEXT Pro playoff position.

Next up for CT United FC on their New Haven homestand is New York Red Bulls II on Sunday, July 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET.
