CT United FC today announced the expansion of its technical staff as the club prepares for its inaugural 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, reinforcing its ambition to build one of the top professional soccer organizations in North America.

Daniel Gutierrez (Assistant Coach), Javier Decima (Director of Goalkeeping), and Fernando Alva (Performance Analyst) will report to recently announced Head Coach Shavar Thomas. The group brings extensive experience across MLS, MLS NEXT Pro, U.S. Soccer, and Division I collegiate soccer, strengthening CT United’s competitive and performance infrastructure from day one.

  • Gutierrez joins CT United from New York Red Bulls II, where he served as an assistant coach and was part of the staff that captured the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Championship.
  • Decima most recently served as Goalkeeper Coach at Sacred Heart University and has also held the role of Director of Goalkeeping for CT United’s academy, overseeing goalkeeper development within the club’s pathway.
  • Alva arrives from the New York Red Bulls organization, where he worked across first-team and professional operations in performance and opposition analysis, following prior roles with U.S. Soccer National Teams.

“These hires set the standard for the type of club we intend to be,” said Head Coach Shavar Thomas. “This is about more than development — it’s about building a professional environment that competes at the highest levels of North American soccer. Daniel, Javier, and Fernando bring the experience and mentality needed to establish CT United as a top-class organization.”
